Dannemora Museum

Explore Dannemora’s Story — Past & Present
At the Dannemora Museum, we believe history isn’t just something you read about — it’s something you feel.
Our community has deep roots, and a big part of that story begins with the mining industry at Dannemora Prison. It helped put this village on the map and shaped life in the Adirondacks as we know it.
We’re here to celebrate those stories — not just the big events, but the everyday lives of the people who built this place. With rotating exhibits and a large photo gallery full of real faces and places from Dannemora’s early days, there’s always something new to discover.
Whether you’ve lived here all your life or you’re just getting to know the area, stop in, look around, and connect with the history that made this village what it is today.
Come by once, and you’ll want to come back.

Location:
Village Community Center
40 Emmons Street, Dannemora, NY
Hours:
First Saturday of each month (April–November), 10am–2pm, by appointment.
